Well, we have MORE snow...

This has been a winter like no other! Of all the years to have this much snow, freezing temperatures, and missed days of school, it happens while my husband is deployed and I am a single parent to three kids...AGH! We were already out of school today for Presidents' Day, but I am not holding out much hope that we will make it to school tomorrow. To make it even more depressing, we have used all of our snow days and have to make up one day, plus any more that we miss! I am not sure if they will make them up on Spring Break or tack them on to the end of the school year; we have no "official" word yet, just rumors...So, the kids and I have rented and watched many movies from the "Red Box" this winter, read a lot of books, played some Wii, and the kids have enjoyed their Nintendo DSs. Thankfully, we have not lost power like some of our Texas friends and I have always made it to the grocery store for the necessities before the snow hits. I guess there are positives, even on a dreary winter day! This past weekend produced six showings on our house and one offer, which we rejected. I am praying for a good offer at the right time from the right buyer. I have cleaned this house more than I ever dreamed possible for what is now about 30 showings since the end of October! My dad even jokes that if I keep sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, I am going to rub holes in the floors! On a happy note, Chad was able to call twice this weekend!! The kids and I got to talk to him and as Hunter said, it was good to hear his voice. Courtney told him that Valentine's was not good without him and Graham said, "We'll meet you at our new house, dad." (That was my favorite part of yesterday! Graham just skips right to the end...wish we could really do that!!) Chad is glad to now have access to facebook so he can connect with more friends and family, but is very disappointed that there will be no port call this month. About all he can do is workout, see patients (if there are any), eat, and look forward to movie night (assuming the movie is something he wants to see!). Between all this, he stands ready for anything and everything that might walk through his office door...he has now performed TWO surgeries that he had never done that fall out of the scope of General Surgery. (He actually had to pull his anatomy books, look at pictures, and go from there!) He has an amazing gift and I am proud and thankful that God is using him in such a powerful way. (BUT WE ARE VERY READY FOR HIM TO COME HOME AND PRACTICE MEDICINE STATESIDE!) Chad, I am including pictures of Courtney before her Valentine's party at school, the "Ghostbusters" boys playing Wii, and today's snow in the backyard (even as it continues to fall...) We love you very much...XOXO
